We evaluated and identified the critical accessibility issues within each property – web, mobile, kiosk, and more – with the client to identify the major pain points that had the highest impact on the business and the end-user. The Challenge
Tamman evaluated and identified critical accessibility issues and worked with the client to identify the major pain points that had the highest impact on the business and the end-user. Together, we are building a 10-year remediation roadmap for this municipal client. Accessibility was not baked into any of the designs from the start. Tamman’s charge was to identify issues, prioritize them based on severity and image the solutions after properties had already been built. Working on a strict budget, the client was not able to rebuild legacy applications from the ground up. Therefore, identifying, educating, testing and re-testing or really walking the journey with our client over several months was crucial to creating lasting impact.
The Solution
- Train Tamman’s QA Assessment team on the purpose and use of each application and digital product
- Run thematic assessments to identify the critical accessibility gaps in the applications and products
- Work in partnership with client’s software development team to make prioritized recommendations to remediate
- Provide education and technical documentation along the way

The Result
With the accessibility report findings, we were able to identify and lay out a strong accessibility roadmap for our client. For most remediation projects, it is not uncommon to stagger remediation. In a world of scarce resources, doing everything at once is just not possible, and prioritizing different aspects of accessibility can feel really difficult. Tamman’s accessibility experts took the time to hash out not only what is needed, but in what order and why.
The client now has a plan of step-by-step remediation efforts to accomplish over the next ten years and a partner in Tamman to help them whenever they need it along the way.
